We always stay in comfortable accommodation but we avoid large camps which provide unnecessary and out of character luxury or a sanitized experience with regimented meals and game drives. Our focus is wildlife and a local experience, not the accommodation. Having said that, it’s pretty hard to beat your very own ‘up-market’ bush camp.
Generators and power boards are typically available for recharging, laundry is generally taken care of, the food and hot showers are great, as is the view and exclusive feel of your very own bush ‘home’.
Just in case you haven’t got it yet, we don’t believe safaris are about spa treatments and swimming pools….
In some countries accommodation can be more basic if we are looking to be closer to the wildlife – for instance gorilla tracking in Rwanda. But wherever we stay is clean and comfortable and with a sense of flexibility and travel maturity, they are absolutely fine.
